Job Description:
Solution Architect, Applied AI- Montreal Only
Plusgrade is scaling its AI ecosystem beyond prototypes into production-grade agentic systems, and we need a Solution Architect to bridge machine learning, data engineering, and enterprise architecture to power real-time travel experiences.
What You'll Be Doing
As the architectural cornerstone of our Applied AI Engineering team, you will design low-latency, full-stack machine learning architectures that seamlessly connect complex backend ML logic with frontend delivery layers. You will partner closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture to synchronize data pipelines, feature delivery, and production model lifecycles across our global platforms. Our software delivery and system design are structured directly around AI capabilities, giving teams the architectural foundations needed to deploy agentic systems with speed and reliability. By keeping a pulse on emerging paradigms and translating relevant models into technical direction, you will ensure our AI products are scalable, highly available, and built to last.
The Stack
Python · Java · SQL · PySpark · AWS (EKS, SageMaker, Bedrock, Agentcore, DynamoDB, Elasticache, Lambda, LoadBalancer, Glue, Kinesis, S3) · Kubernetes · Docker · Snowflake · SnowPark · RedShift · GrowthBook · GitLab · CI/CD · Argo CD
What You Bring
- You bring a deep background in systems architecture and software engineering, with extensive experience designing distributed, low-latency machine learning platforms that connect backend logic to frontend delivery layers.
- You have taken AI systems past the proof-of-concept phase into robust production environments, including hands-on experience with agentic workflows, LLM orchestration, and vector databases.
- You naturally bridge technical domains, bringing Data Science, Data Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture together to establish clear technical standards and deliver on roadmap commitments.
- You master cloud-native infrastructure and MLOps practices, leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and tools like SageMaker to ensure high availability and smooth lifecycle management.
- You have structurally changed how teams build software around AI, creating shared architectural patterns and standards that allow engineering groups to move materially faster while keeping systems reliable and secure.
Why Plusgrade
Travel is about the moments that make a journey feel personal. At Plusgrade, we build the technology that makes those moments possible, from upgrade offers and loyalty experiences to revenue tools used by 575+ airline, hospitality, cruise, rail, and financial services partners worldwide.
The work is global, complex, and rewarding. You will solve meaningful problems, take ownership from idea to outcome, and work alongside people who are smart, curious, and committed to doing great work.
We also give our teams access to AI tools and the encouragement to use them thoughtfully, to move faster, explore ideas, and build better ways of working.
We trust our teams to do their best work. That means autonomy, flexibility, and room to grow.
Come help us shape the future of travel.
