About the Role
Join a small, senior engineering team building the ML foundation for consumer products. You will create data pipelines, models, retrieval systems, and inference infrastructure that power useful, intuitive AI experiences.
What You'll Do
Architect and build machine learning and retrieval systems for core product experiences.
Design data pipelines that ingest, classify, enrich, and summarize user data.
Build scalable inference infrastructure for real-time and batch workloads.
Select and fine-tune models, develop embeddings and RAG pipelines, and establish evaluation frameworks and quality measures.
Prototype AI-powered product ideas, then strengthen successful approaches for production.
Work with product, design, and engineering to turn consumer needs into polished ML features.
Help establish strong ML practices across the team, including attention to system quality and failure modes.
What We're Looking For
At least 5 years of software or machine learning engineering experience in consumer AI or ML systems.
Experience building and shipping ML-powered consumer features from concept to real users, such as personalization, ranking, search, or recommendations.
Strong applied ML experience, including developing custom models such as embedding, recommendation, or personalization models.
Practical experience with LLMs, embeddings, RAG, classification, NLP, ranking, or retrieval systems.
Experience with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, vector databases, and ML data pipelines or inference infrastructure.
A degree in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Product judgment, end-to-end ownership, and comfort working in an early-stage or entrepreneurial environment.
