Job Summary:
The AI Engineer is responsible for driving the practical adoption of AI across the organization. This role is the "bridge" between business challenges and the technical capabilities of AI environments like Microsoft Copilot and the Microsoft Power Platform. The AI Engineer partners closely with business stakeholders to identify, architect, and deliver AI solutions that produce measurable business value.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serves as the "bridge" between complex business challenges and the technical capabilities of Microsoft Copilot and the Power Platform.
- Architects, deploys, and maintains end-to-end AI solutions using tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio to extend standard AI capabilities.
- Analyzes and proposes improvements to high-friction workflows, focusing on reducing manual processes through "Proof of Value" apps and automated AI agents.
- Facilitates "Art of the Possible" workshops and collaborates with departments to demonstrate how AI can solve specific pain points and deliver measurable value.
- Listens to and learns business context from stakeholders across departments before proposing technical solutions.
- Contributes to the development of "Center of Excellence" (CoE) standards for AI development, ensuring all solutions are scalable, documented, and maintainable.
- Ensures all AI implementations adhere to Microsoft’s Responsible AI principles and internal data governance policies.
- Helps define standards for prompt engineering, environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod), and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) within the Power Platform.
- Stays current with the Microsoft AI roadmap, including Wave releases, new connectors, and Azure OpenAI updates, and shares relevant updates with the team.
- Provides after-hours support as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot for Microsoft 365, and Azure OpenAI Service in real-world business scenarios.
- Strong proficiency with the Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Dataverse.
- Strong technical understanding of API integrations (including Custom Connectors), JSON, and foundational expression languages such as Power Fx.
- Genuine interest in technology and automation, reflected through hands-on experimentation with workflows, AI agents, custom GPT solutions, or similar innovations.
- Proven ability to design, refactor, and maintain complex automations using best practices for scalability, performance, supportability, and long-term sustainability.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt style across audiences — from individual contributors and field users to senior executives; ability to translate business requirements into effective, secure technical solutions.
- Strong commitment to Responsible AI principles and strict adherence to internal security, privacy, and compliance standards, with sound judgment to make informed decisions beyond prescribed guidelines.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an information technology field or 4 years' equivalent professional experience
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience delivering business-aligned solutions on the Microsoft stack (Power Platform, Copilot, Azure AI, or similar).
Certifications:
- Microsoft-specific AI and Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure AI Engineer Associate, Power Platform Functional Consultant), or industry-standard security certifications (CISA, CISM, CISSP) preferred
Physical Demands and Hazards for Office Employees:
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, frequent computer use, occasional lifting of office supplies, and may involve travel.
