Our dedication to sustainability is also central to our culture and part of what makes AstraZeneca a great place to work. We know the health of people, the planet and our business are interconnected, which is why we’re taking ambitious action to tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time, from climate change to access to healthcare and disease prevention.

Introduction to the role:

We are looking for a motivated and curious university student to join our team as an AI Business Support Specialist Intern. This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting artificial intelligence projects and to learn how AI solutions move from development and testing through implementation and adoption.

Working alongside experienced team members, you will support activities related to project coordination, solution testing, user acceptance testing, training materials, documentation, and stakeholder communication. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of teams, which may include data scientists, developers, project managers, business partners, subject matter experts, and end users.

This role is ideal for a student who is interested in the intersection of AI, technology, business, and project management. You do not need to be an AI developer or machine learning expert. Instead, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable working with technology, organized, and interested in helping teams successfully introduce new AI-enabled solutions.

Throughout the internship, you will gain exposure to different stages of the AI project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing, user feedback, training, implementation readiness, and post-launch support. You will also build practical experience working in a cross-functional, professional environment.

What You'll Do:

As an intern, you may have the opportunity to:

• Support AI projects: Assist with day-to-day project activities, milestone tracking, action items, schedules, and project documentation.
• Participate in solution testing: Help prepare test scenarios, participate in testing activities, document results, and track issues or feedback.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Work with project team members and business users to help coordinate testing, capture feedback, document observations, and support follow-up activities.
• Create training and presentation materials: Help develop presentations, user guides, walkthroughs, demos, and other resources that make new AI solutions easier for employees to understand and use.
• Support project meetings: Help organize meetings and workshops, prepare materials, capture key discussion points and action items, and follow up on next steps.
• Collaborate across teams: Work with technical and business colleagues to understand project needs and help keep activities and communication organized.
• Gather user feedback: Assist in collecting and documenting feedback from users to help the project team understand what is working well and where improvements may be needed.
• Maintain project documentation: Help keep meeting notes, trackers, testing records, training materials, process documentation, and other project resources organized and up to date.
• Support launch readiness: Assist with activities that help prepare an AI solution for implementation, including readiness checks, training coordination, communications, and user onboarding.
• Learn about responsible AI delivery: Gain exposure to how organizations consider governance, quality, business requirements, testing, and user readiness when implementing AI solutions.

What We're Looking For:

• Currently enrolled in a university undergraduate or graduate program
• Interest in artificial intelligence, digital technology, business, project management, data, or related fields
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working collaboratively with people from different functions and backgrounds
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on commitments
• Experience with presentation, spreadsheet, and productivity tools
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, including AI tools and concepts
• Ability to ask thoughtful questions, receive feedback, and contribute ideas

What You'll Gain:

During this internship, you will have the opportunity to:

• Gain practical exposure to real-world AI projects
• Learn how AI solutions are tested, validated, introduced, and adopted within a business
• Develop experience in project coordination and stakeholder communication
• Build skills in User Acceptance Testing, documentation, presentations, and training
• Develop a better understanding of the AI development and implementation lifecycle
• Strengthen professional skills that can support future careers in areas such as AI, technology, project management, business analysis, product management, digital transformation, and change management

Who Would Thrive in This Role?

You may be a great fit if you're someone who is curious about AI and wants to learn more about building machine learning models. You enjoy organizing information, solving problems, creating clear presentations, collaborating with others, and figuring out how technology can be used effectively in a business environment.

Most importantly, we're looking for a student who is eager to learn, willing to contribute, and excited to gain hands-on experience with AI projects.
