BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting an experienced Software Engineer for an Intelligence Community mission support role in Fort Meade, MD. This full-time, onsite position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
Our client is a Woman Owned Small Business that has supported U.S. defense and intelligence missions since 2012. Founded by two engineers, its systems, software, and hardware engineering teams model, analyze, design, integrate, develop, and deploy complex mission systems side by side with government customers, and the company also builds rugged RF hardware for specialized SIGINT applications. It works alongside many of the largest national security integrators and operates from Columbia, Maryland, near Fort Meade.
What will you do
Design and develop full-stack software applications using Python and Java with Gradle. You will work with users and project partners to define requirements, deliver accessible interfaces, maintain code quality, and explore opportunities to integrate large language models and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software applications using Python and Java with Gradle.
- Gather and evaluate end-user and customer requirements.
- Write, test, debug, and deploy code, and perform code reviews to maintain quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Contribute to project planning and collaborate with product managers, developers, subject matter experts, and leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Design user interfaces that are widely accessible across the customer community.
- Explore integration opportunities for large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence (AI).
- Design interfaces and bridges to external requirements management tools.
- Mentor junior software engineers.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 14 years of experience in software engineering, or 18 years of experience in software engineering without a degree.
- Experience designing and developing applications using Python and Java with Gradle.
- Experience gathering requirements and writing, testing, debugging, deploying, and reviewing code.
- Experience with full-stack development and user interface design.
- Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.
