Founding Software Engineer – AI

About the Role

Premier Global Links LLC is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to help build AI safety products that enable AI agents to operate within legal and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role focused on AI/LLM products, legal evaluations, real-time guardrails, and safety infrastructure. You will work closely with a small engineering team to turn research into production software and build customer-facing solutions from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Build legal evaluation systems and testing environments for AI agents.
• Develop and productionize real-time guardrails for AI and LLM applications.
• Build core infrastructure for AI safety and evaluation workflows.
• Develop AI/LLM products and customer-facing features from 0 to 1.
• Ship solutions to design partners and iterate based on real-world requirements.
• Design scalable software architecture and engineering systems.
• Work with evaluation harnesses, RL environments, training pipelines, or related AI infrastructure.
• Translate research concepts into reliable production software.
• Contribute to technical strategy, architecture, and engineering practices.
• Take ownership of challenging problems in a fast-moving, research-oriented environment.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building production products.
• Experience building or deploying AI, LLM, or machine learning products.
• Experience building core software infrastructure and customer-facing features.
• Demonstrated ability to take products or major features from 0 to 1.
• Strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals.
• Comfortable working independently in ambiguous, research-heavy environments.
• High ownership, initiative, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work on-site 5 days per week in San Francisco, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI agents, RAG, inference infrastructure, or LLM applications.
• Experience building evaluation harnesses, testing environments, RL environments, or training/post-training pipelines.
• Experience with VPC, on-premises, or self-hosted deployments.
• Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
• Research or quantitative engineering experience combined with production software development.
• Strong technical education or equivalent industry experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• $185,000–$250,000 annual salary, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Arrangement

Employees are expected to work from the San Francisco office 5 days per week.
