About the Role

We are looking for experienced backend software engineers to contribute to next-generation AI training projects. You will use your software engineering expertise to create realistic coding challenges, including feature implementations and bug fixes, and develop deterministic verifiers that accept valid solutions while rejecting incorrect ones. Prior AI experience is not required—your technical expertise and independent judgment are what matter.

This opportunity is well suited to engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, evaluating code quality, and working with backend systems, testing, and software reliability.

CONTRACT: Contractor

LOCATION: Remote — APJ, NAMER, LATAM, and EMEA

Key Responsibilities

  • Create realistic, challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and software bug fixes.
  • Design tasks that reflect real-world backend engineering scenarios.
  • Develop deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject incorrect outputs.
  • Work with backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or similar languages.
  • Evaluate code for correctness, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Incorporate automated testing and clear validation criteria into coding tasks.
  • Identify and account for edge cases, performance bottlenecks, and potential implementation errors.
  • Apply secure coding principles and cybersecurity considerations where relevant.
  • Refine tasks and verification logic based on project requirements and quality standards.
  • Strong professional experience with one or more backend programming languages, such as Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Practical experience with debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
  • Strong code review skills and the ability to identify correctness, quality, and maintainability issues.
  • Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and fundamental computer science concepts.
  • Ability to independently analyze technical problems and develop reliable solutions.
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
