We are seeking an AI Architect to design and implement AI/ML architectures supporting FEMA’s cloud, analytics, and mission systems. The person in this position will integrate AI services with FEMA’s enterprise architecture and data platforms. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect AI/ML pipelines, MLOps processes, and cloud-based model deployment.
  • Evaluate AI platforms such as AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, and GCP Vertex.
  • Lead responsible AI, model governance, and bias/risk mitigation practices. 
  • Support use case development, prototyping, and technical evaluation. 
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, PMs, and Cloud Architects to integrate AI capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience with similar responsibilities.
  • Strong background in ML engineering and distributed systems. 
  • Proficiency with Python, ML frameworks, and cloud ML services. 
  • Understanding of federal data privacy and security requirements.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Analytics, Cloud AI/ML certifications preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Priority considerations for FEMA Public Trust Clearance or DHS Public Trust in the last three years. Active Public Trust, or the ability to obtain.
