About the Role
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Engineer (AI, Data & Security Tooling Ecosystem) in United States.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional passionate about shaping the future of AI-enabled cybersecurity operations. In this role, you will lead the technical strategy behind a modern ecosystem that combines artificial intelligence, security data platforms, and enterprise-grade tooling to support scalable cyber operations. You will work in a highly collaborative, innovation-driven environment focused on automation, operational resilience, and secure-by-design engineering practices. The position offers the chance to influence enterprise-wide architecture decisions, mentor engineering talent, and help build intelligent systems that improve operational efficiency and security readiness. This remote role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges with long-term business impact.
- Define and drive the technical architecture and engineering standards for AI-enabled cybersecurity platforms, security operations data systems, and integrated tooling ecosystems.
- Establish and enforce best practices related to code quality, test-driven development, CI/CD pipelines, platform reliability, observability, and secure software engineering.
- Design governance and safety mechanisms for AI-assisted workflows, ensuring auditability, evidence logging, least-privilege access, and secure operational controls.
- Lead the development and optimization of large-scale security data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, enrichment, schema governance, and analytics readiness.
- Oversee tooling integration and lifecycle management by implementing standardized APIs, telemetry, automation, and monitoring frameworks.
- Support operational excellence through incident readiness planning, system health monitoring, runbook development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and provide strategic technical leadership across cross-functional teams, acting as a trusted advisor on complex architecture and platform decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, compliance, privacy, and operational stakeholders to align technology initiatives with enterprise objectives and risk standards.
Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, cybersecurity engineering, or large-scale technology development environments.
- Strong background leading enterprise-level technical strategy, platform architecture, and complex system integrations.
- Hands-on expertise with CI/CD implementation, cloud-native systems, production platform operations, and performance optimization.
- Deep understanding of security data engineering concepts, including telemetry pipelines, schema governance, logging frameworks, and analytics-driven operations.
- Familiarity with AI and automation technologies, including secure-by-design practices for agentic or AI-assisted systems.
- Experience building reusable engineering frameworks, developer enablement tools, and scalable operational “golden path” solutions.
- Ability to partner effectively with risk, legal, compliance, and privacy teams in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills in distributed and cross-functional organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Benefits:
- Competitive annual compensation ranging from $199,000 to $274,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Fully remote work environment within the United States.
- Comprehensive technology package including laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse.
- Monthly internet/connectivity reimbursement for remote employees.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and cybersecurity transformation initiatives at enterprise scale.
- Collaborative and innovation-focused culture that encourages technical leadership and strategic influence.
- Access to professional growth opportunities, mentorship, and advanced engineering projects.
- Comprehensive healthcare and employee benefits package.
- Supportive environment focused on meaningful impact, operational excellence, and long-term career development.
